Ventnor Recreation

Ventnor City has several recreational facilities and offers many activities for visitors and residents.

The Ventnor City Boardwalk is open for bike riding from 6am to noon and from 5pm to 7pm (May 31 Labor Day) during the off season bike riding is permitted during daylight hours.  The boardwalk is 1.7 miles long and connects to the Atlantic City Boardwalk, Ventnor City residents and visitors enjoy jogging, walking or just sitting and taking in the view of the Atlantic Ocean.

Ventnor City has playgrounds found at the following locations:  Newport Avenue and the Beach, Suffolk Ave and the Beach (the new C-SURE Playground), New Haven Ave and the Beach (at the Ventnor City Library) and two playgrounds in Ventnor Heights.

The Ventnor Library located at New Haven and Atlantic Avenues has a Cultural Arts Center, the Ventnor City Beachfront Park, a Playground, a meeting room available for groups holding meetings of a civic, cultural or educational nature with setting capacity of 60 persons and a Ventnor Community Building located at Newport Ave and the Beach.

Ventnor City has several recreational areas; a Golf Driving Range on Lafayette Avenue with 19 lanes and various size buckets of golf balls, Two Beach Volleyball courts one at the Fishing Pier and the other at Somerset Avenue, and seven Tennis Courts (Atlantic Avenue between Suffolk and Somerset). Ventnor Heights has several baseball and soft ball fields and the Lafayette School has large open fields for soccer.

Ventnor Beach provides areas for sailing, kayaking, surfing and swimming (with Lifeguards on duty from 10am to 6pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day beach tags are required).  The Hobie Cat Beach is at Somerset Avenue and the Beach; sailboats can be registered by the season at City Hall.  Kayak Beach at Princeton Avenue and the Beach is supervised by lifeguards a block away at Sacramento Avenue.  Surfing Beach is located at Cornwall Avenue beside the Ventnor City Fishing Pier and is open during daylight hours.  Ventnor Heights is home to the Viking Rowing Club located at the Boathouse and offers rowing programs for all ages.
