On Ash Wednesday, February 22nd this year, Catholics begin the forty-day season called Lent which precedes the celebration of Easter, Christ’s resurrection from the dead.

Begins Holy Thursday, April 5 (Mass of the Lord's Supper), ends Holy Saturday, April 7 (evening of prayer on Easter Sunday).
