Misc. Stepper Motors
Stepper Motor Depot has many miscellaneous stepper motors covering all stepper motors not following into a standard NEMA size, you will find the strange and unusual in this department.
|
Stepper Motor Drivers
Stepper motor performance is strongly dependent on the drive circuit. Torque curves may be extended to greater speeds if the stator poles can be reversed more quickly, the limiting factor being the winding inductance. To overcome the inductance and switch the windings quickly, one must increase the drive voltage. This leads further to the necessity of limiting the current that these high voltages may otherwise induce.

Linear Stepper Motors
Linear Stepper Motors open new avenues for equipment designers who require high performance and exceptional endurance in a very small package. These linear actuators are ideal for application requiring a combination of precise positioning, rapid motion and long life. Typical applications include X-Y tables, medical equipment, semiconductor handling, telecommunications equipment, valve control, and numerous other uses. Sold at competitive prices, this product is an excellent value for incorporation into your next project.

Dual Shaft Stepper Motors
Dual Shaft stepper motors when you require an addition shaft for encoders, potion sensors or an extra gear. A Dual shaft stepper motor (or step motor) is a brushless DC electric motor that can divide a full rotation into a large number of steps. The motor's position can be controlled precisely without any feedback mechanism (an open-loop controller), as long as the motor is carefully sized to the application.
|
Unipolar Stepper Motors
A unipolar stepper motor has one winding with center tap per phase. Each section of windings is switched on for each direction of magnetic field. Since in this arrangement a magnetic pole can be reversed without switching the direction of current, the commutation circuit can be made very simple for each winding.

Bipolar Stepper Motors
Bipolar motors have a single winding per phase. The current in a winding needs to be reversed in order to reverse a magnetic pole, so the driving circuit must be more complicated. There are two leads per phase, none are common.

DC Motors
A DC motor is an electric motor that runs on direct current (DC) electricity. DC motors can operate directly from rechargeable batteries, providing the motive power for the first electric vehicles. Today DC motors are still found in applications as small as toys and disk drives, or in large sizes to operate steel rolling mills and paper machines.

AC Motors
An AC motor is an electric motor driven by an alternating current. It commonly consists of two basic parts, an outside stationary stator having coils supplied with alternating current to produce a rotating magnetic field, and an inside rotor attached to the output shaft that is given a torque by the rotating field.
