About

Mission

Youth Take Action is committed to engaging and encouraging leadership, innovation, and action from our youth. Young people today are going to inherit significant challenges in their lifetime and the time to start facing those challenges is now. We aim to provide a look into the work that needs to be done, the opportunities to help solve many of the problems that we currently face, and the people and companies that are already taking action.

This world demands the qualities of youth: not a time of life but a state of mind, a temper of the will, a quality of the imagination, a predominance of courage over timidity, of the appetite for adventure over the love of ease. –Robert F. Kennedy

Why

We believe in the power of youth to rise up to the challenges that we are facing and create solutions that will inspire us to work, play and enjoy life. The opportunity to start a business, club, group, craft has never been easier thanks to all the resources that we have access to in a digital age. We want to address the difference between what work we are doing, what work we want to do, and what work needs to be done.

What

By exploring industry trends and the current state of our country, we will explore the opportunities available to young people to get involved in the work that needs to be done. In a rapidly changing world, we need to embrace the creative and flexible skills that will be needed to create the jobs and work to fuel our generation.Daily blog post on topics including: Education, Business, Technology/Innovation, Lifestyle, and Work. Our goal is to provide content that can motivate you to start taking action today, and to connect with others who are likeminded. Our success will not only be measured by the work we do, but also by the work that is done by all who believe in our mission.

Who

Patrick Morris

Youth Take Action was started by Patrick Morris in December 2011. Patrick grew up on Long Island, did undergraduate studies at Boston College, and following graduation headed out to Seattle for a year as a member of the Jesuit Volunteer Corps:NW. Upon returning home from Seattle, Patrick was unsure of what was next and found seasonal employment as a sailing coach, working at a ski shop, and numerous other part-time jobs. After finishing up with his last job, and looking for full-time employment, he finally realized that he needed to do what he wanted to do, and this is the start of that life-long project.
