Why create an iStream account?
If you belong to a college that has purchased an Institutional subscription, you will need to create your own account to access the resources and tools in iStream. When you create your account, the login information is based on your institutional email address and a password of your choosing. To get started, click on “Create Your iStream Account,” check the drop-down institution listing to see if your college is an iStream subscriber. If they are, complete the quick form, and click “Submit.”
If you purchased a Group or an Individual subscription, you were given your user name and password when you paid. If you are having trouble logging in, or cannot find this information, contact Cheri Jessup (jessup@league.org) for assistance.

What is iStream?
iStream (or Information Stream) is the League’s robust web-based, multimedia portal where faculty, staff, administration, and students go to find quick solutions for research and reference needs using the latest web 2.0 technology. iStream offers easy 24/7 access to resources, tools, and information gear specifically for community college and higher education…materials that are not available through any public search engine – not even Google.

The Learning Exchange Networks (LENs) -
LENs includes six online training modules along with facilitator resources, workshop guides, and ancillary materials. LENs modules quickly and efficiently place a powerful and proven resource in the hands of all full- and part-time faculty on your campus.
Getting Results -
These customized faculty development modules, featuring video segments illustrating exemplary practice and online resources and strategies targeted to ATE disciplines, are available as needed for self-study. The primary audience is adjunct faculty teaching in ATE programs, many of whom come from industry, have no pedagogical framework for their teaching, and have significant time constraints on their ability to participate in professional development.
Webinars, Dangerous Discussions, and Flashlight -
The League partners with organizations to provide iStream subscribers front-row, *free seating to practical and thought-provoking workshops and webinars relevant in community colleges today. Recognizing when partnerships offer the best opportunities for members, the League has partnered with organizations such as Innovative Educators, the National Repository of Online Courses (NROC), and CISCO Systems to offer a host of monthly webinars. Additionally, NROC provides a network of over 2500 multimedia learning objectives in a variety of discipline areas available as online resources or iPod video lessons for immediate student access.
Open Educational Resources –
OER offers your entire campus open access or discounted options to an array of workforce and specialty online learning programs to meet academic, workforce, and community education needs. Created by colleagues in the community college field, see how Anne Arundel Community College tackles the daunting task of “Parenting.” And, how Kirkwood Community College has broken down an array of “Environmental Technology” topics creating focused online courses that include subjects like Wastewater Treatment, Solid Waste Composting, Emergency Response, and many more.

How do I/we become an iStream subscriber?
If your college or institution is already a League Alliance member, an additional subscription price is paid and everyone at that college then has access to iStream.

How do I gain access to information located in iStream?
Your college/institution must be an iStream subscriber to access the information and tools in iStream. As an individual of a subscribing college, you then need to create your own individual iStream account. Go to www.league.org/istream to sign up for an individual account or to log-in if you’ve already created your account. Login information is based on your institutional email address and a password of your choice.
