vBulletin Skins 3.6.3 Ready

The new 3.6.3 updates are available in the members area ready for download! Aria, Afterdark, Element, Tech Two, Satellite and BLuesaint These release are a minor update that included fixes for all of the recent bug reported in the bugtracker. To update simply overwrite your old skin with the new one. Did you customise many of the templates and do not wish to overwrite? Here is what's changed in these new versions: Aferdark ALL VERSIONS!! vbulletin 3.6.3 Skins

All of the current 3.6.2 skins will work correctly on vBulletin 3.6.3 However in the next 24 hours I will have the updates available in the members area that will includes a small bug fix that was reported in the bug tracker. The demo forum will be offline until the updates are online.

vBulletin Skins Exchange program and Site updates.

I would like to offer all of our customers a free skin exchange. How does it work and what does it mean? All skins are going to be converted to the latest vbulletin 3.6.3 However some skins are taking longer than others to be converted and I'm sure some of you are not happy with waiting for the updates so here it comes the exchange program. If you have a valid (active) license of a skin that is not converted for the latest vbulletin version or expired in the last 30 days you can contact me USING THE HELP DESK for a skin exchange. You can choose between any of the skins that are available for vbulletin 3.6.x so that you will be able to use it immediately on your forum. IF you do want to participate in the exchange program, please provide the following option in the support ticket system You customer username ( the one that you use to login the members area) Your paypal transaction id Your forum Address ( where you are going to use the skin) ========================================== If you do not wish to participate and your license is about to expire or is expired within the last 30 days , you will receive a free membership extension that will grant you the right to get your skin update at the moment of release.

An undocumented behaviour in all Windows versions of Internet Explorer has rendered vBulletin vulnerable to a potential cross-site scripting flaw (XSS). Therefore, we have decided to put out a preventative security release in order to work-around the Internet Explorer problem before it is exploited.

3.6.3 also includes fixes for approximately 50 bugs that were discovered in 3.6.2. For this reason, we recommend all customers upgrade to 3.6.3 as soon as possible. If this is not possible and you are currently running 3.6.2, you may use the patch method discussed here.

Updating your vBulletin to combat the XSS flaw:

Please note that this issue is present in other versions of vBulletin as well. Please see the appropriate announcement!

You have two options to fix the XSS issue:

Full Upgrade: The best way to fix the problem is to perform a full upgrade, downloading the complete 3.6.3 package from the vBulletin Members' Area and following the regular upgrade instructions.
Patch: A second option is to download the patch files discussed in this thread and upload them to your web server, overwriting the existing files. The patch is available in the Members' Area patch page or later in this post!
