MEET THE EDITOR AND PUBLISHER OF EXPEDITION NEWS
Jeff Blumenfeld is editor and publisher of Expedition News. Blumenfeld is a member of The Explorers Club, former chairman of its public relations committee, and writes quarterly for The Explorers Journal. He is also a member of the American Alpine Club and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
A specialist in adventure marketing, he's traveled extensively throughout the Canadian Northwest Territories, Argentina, UK, and Iceland, and provided support to the Bering Bridge Expedition which departed by dog sled from Anadyr in the (then) Soviet Far East.
In his new book, You Want to Go Where?: How to Get Someone to Pay for the Trip of Your Dreams (Skyhorse Publishing 2009), he explains how with the right idea and proper advance preparation, it is possible to raise thousands of dollars in cash and outdoor gear and apparel for worthy expeditions.
You Want to Go Where? shares the story of a 35-year "adventure marketing" career spent linking corporations like Du Pont, The Coleman Company, 3M Thinsulate and Lands' End with adventurers and explorers.
He's a graduate of Syracuse University, and is a former adjunct faculty member of New York University's School of Continuing Education/Management Institute. An avid skier, sailor and sea kayaker, he resides in southern Connecticut.
