District Information

The Fire District is a political subdivision of the State of Washington. District operations are overseen by a three person Board of Commissioners who are elected by the citizens of the District. The Board of Commissioners meet on the second Wednesday of every month at 10 AM at the headquarters fire station. The public is welcome to attend. The present Board members are John Frazier, Jerry Smith, and Harry Oestreich.

The Fire District encompasses about 50 square miles and includes the City of Duvall, the communities of Lake Margaret and Lake Marcel, and surrounding areas. The District boundary is the County line on the North, 244 Avenue NE on the West, and the forest and mountains on the East. The South border is very convoluted. The estimated population of the District is 12-14,000.

The Fire District is a tax supported entity with over 90 percent of the revenue coming from property taxes.
