John
has a life-long love for our marvelous American popular music and is
fortunate to have been able to play these great tunes throughout most of his
35+ years in radio. He started his radio career in Phoenix at Arizona's
legendary pioneer radio station KOY. John's first day on-the-air was July
20, 1969 ... the day Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. In 1971, he moved to
southern California and built a loyal following of radio listeners on
several stations, including 10 years presenting Adults Standards at KPOP and
later at Los Angeles station KKGO beginning in 2002.
John has interviewed most of the wonderful artists performing the Great
American Songbook and has a depth of knowledge in our musical heritage that
he loves to share with his listeners. |

Chuck
Southcott |
|
Chuck
Southcott has been presenting the great standards both locally and
nationally for his entire career.
Chuck has been a dominant force in Los Angeles radio for a quarter of a
century. Hes been both Program Director and air personality at KGIL, KPRZ,
KMPC, KJQI, KKJZ and KKLA in Los Angeles and has worked with such stellar
talents as Robert W. Morgan, Wink Martindale, Gary Owens, Charlie Tuna, Jim
Lange, Sweet Dick Whittington, Dick Whittinghill and Peter Marshall, among
others.
Chuck Southcott was named Los Angeles Times Disc Jockey of the Year and
received both the Billboard and Gavin awards as national Program Director
of the Year. While with KGIL that station was named Radio Station of the
Year by Billboard magazine. While at KMPC that station was given the
Marconi Award by the NAB as Radio Station of the Year. While Chuck was the
midday air personality and Program Director at KPRZ he worked with Al Ham in
re-structuring and updating the Music of Your Life format for future
satellite distribution, and from 1995-2007 served as both Program Director
and air personality for that network.
Broadcasters know Chuck Southcotts warm, knowledgeable presentation of the
greatest music ever made by way of his daily network program as well as the
memorable biographies in sound of Johnny Mathis, Henry Mancini, Duke
Ellington, Steve Allen, Milton Berle and Nat King Cole as well as the
internationally syndicated weekly show Musical. In fact the great Peggy
Lee gave her last extended radio interview to Chuck at her home in Bel Air,
California.
In his spare time Chuck serves as President of the highly respected Pacific
Pioneer Broadcasters as well as Vice President of the World Childhood
Leukemia Council. |

Karl
Southcott was born into a radio family. It didn't take him too long to
embrace the world of radio himself and has been working in the business
since 1981. Early on, he was a producer for the nationally syndicated Bill
Balance Show and a sound man and voice-over talent on various television
productions.
For 12 years Karl served as Operations Manager for the Music Of Your Life at
Jones Radio Networks. As Operations Manager and morning host, Karl was
instrumental in MOYL's success. With the hands-on approach he takes to
develop and maintain relationships with affiliates, Karl helped to expand
MOYL's station count from six to well over 170 affiliates nationwide in a
short time. Under his watch, the format was heard in major markets including
Washington DC, Sacramento, Los Angeles and Seattle among others.
Since early in 2007, Karl has been an integral on-air member of two highly
rated AC station morning show teams for Entercom in Denver, KOSI-101 and
Alice 105-9.
Karl's love of the greatest music ever made has spanned his life. He's
enjoyed presenting our kind of music nationally, and it's been a thrill for
him every step of the way for years. Known on the air as Carl Hampton, his
upbeat and conversational approach to playing standards is contagious.
Enjoy spending time with Karl each weekday afternoon as he plays the finest
music ever recorded. |

|
In
a career spanning over three decades, Jim Raposa has built a solid
reputation as a top-notch personality at great radio stations like: WPRO/Providence;
WODS/Boston; KXOA, KNCI and KHYL, all in Sacramento, just to name a few. As
a comedy writer/performer and producer, Jim has been featured on various
syndicated services and great morning shows including Rick Dees, CBS Radio
and even with legendary New York City radio personality, Cousin Brucie
Morrow.
As an air talent, Jim has received numerous awards from fellow broadcasters
in recognition of his unique ability to develop compelling and entertaining
short and long form syndicated radio specials and programming: including
syndicated projects on The Beatles, Mel Torme, Nat King Cole and his
long-running show Frank & Friends, spotlighting the music and career of
Frank Sinatra. In 1996, The California Legislature Assembly honored Jim on
his record of achievements in the broadcast industry and display of
community service.
A devout music lover and record collector (at one time his personal record

doo-wop, R&B and has a very special place for Adult Standards and artists
like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole and

Steve

radio career. "I guess I'm still working my way through school after all
these years."
