HISTORY

In 2008, the League of Composers/ISCM launched its commissioning project, which capitalizes on the rich talent in the composing community and offers composers a rare and cherished opportunity to create orchestral work. The League is proud to announce that it has awarded its first commission to Alvin Singleton. Singleton’s new work, AFTER CHOICE, was commissioned by the Barlow Foundation for the League of Composers/ISCM and was also made possible by support from the Argosy and Reed Foundations. AFTER CHOICE was the League’s first commission in decades, harkening back to the early years of the League, when it commissioned many new works.
