O Magazine Features Create Now Gifts

NoHo Homeless Kids Craft Self Confidence

We're delighted that Oprah's "O" magazine has mentioned Create Now in their April issue in an article called "Gifts That Made A Difference!" This is a follow-up to an article in December's "O" magazine which featured our organization as part of their article "16 Ways to Make an Incredible Impact With Less Than $15." As a result of their campaign, we received hundreds of donations that have enabled us to bring 1,333 vulnerable children to attend concerts, plays and other cultural excursions through our Artistic Journeys program. We're very grateful to everyone at O magazine, and especially appreciate all of the generous contributors from around the country who enabled us to provide the healing power of the arts to the most troubled kids.

spacer San Fernando Rescue Mission is a faith-based emergency shelter located in North Hollywood where homeless families with children can get meals, cots and additional support for up to 90 days. spacer The kids currently have fun at least twice a week because Create Now volunteers Ashley Jones and Bridget Atiles are teaching them a variety of arts and crafts projects. spacer These activities bring the families together and build self-esteem and confidence. They make lasting souvenirs that remind them about their talents.
