IIIT and Al Hewar on the Question of Identity |

The International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) and The Center for Arab Dialogue in Washington DC convened a joint seminar on the question of identity, entitled “What Is Our Identity, What Is Our Role?” on Saturday, March 3rd at IIIT offices in Herndon, Virginia. The seminar was attended by a select group of Arab intellectuals from the metropolitan Washington area, including the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab League to the United States, Dr. Mohammed Rajaa Alhussaini Al Sharif.
The seminar started with welcoming remarks from Dr. Jamal Barzinji, Vice President of IIIT and Subhi Ghandour, Director of Al Hewar Center, followed by prepared remarks from Clovis Maksoud and presentations by Dr. Muhammed Finaish, Dr. Daoud Khair Allah, Dr. Mohammad Nimer, Dr. Anwar Haddam and Subhi Ghandour. IIIT Jordan Discusses Master's Degree Program in Contemporary Islamic Thought | The International Institute of Islamic Thought, Jordan Office, organized a workshop on Saturday, January 28, 2012 that discussed the development of a Master's Degree program in Contemporary Islamic Thought. | IIIT Chair Inaugurated at Nazareth College | In a ceremony on December 7, 2011, Nazareth College of Rochester became the beneficiary of a new academic chair endowed by IIIT. The chair appropriately named ‘International Institute of Islamic Thought Chair in Interfaith Studies and Dialogue’ is placed in the Center for Interfaith Studies and Dialogue, which is now named after Brian and Jean Hickey who gifted funds to endow the Center.
