This years County Convention will be a little bit different than previous conventions. Historically the County Convention is held after the Primary,  but this year (because of federal court delays), the County Convention will be held before the May 29th Primary.

Fellow Rockwall County Democrats,

I would like to invite you to join me in attending the Rockwall City Council meeting Monday, February 6, 2012, 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers, 385 S Goliad, Rockwall, TX 75087.

We just heard that the city council is going to vote on changing the shelters 90% save goal to include only what they deem "companion animals". This means they will give the shelter staff the green light to kill any animal they think is unsocial and therefore not a potential "companion" pet such as ALL "feral cats" which for them is any cat that is scared upon entry to the shelter.

They have misidentified many cats as feral.  The shelter vet Dr. Avery clipped the ear of two of the cats during their surgery, the sign of a feral cat, because he was told they were feral by shelter staff.  These cats were later socialized and adopted, proving they were not feral.  In the future they will be killed, not neutered.
