New Chapter

Students for Free Culture is a network of students, academics and activists passionate about creating a participatory and innovative society. This website serves as a focal point for the movement, but the real activity takes place within the dozens of campus chapters around the world. From Britain to Boston, members of Students for Free Culture promote the public interest in intellectual property and information policy through diverse methods.

Setting up a new chapter is a great way to promote change within you community and connect with like-minded individuals. SFC chapters are basically autonomous, but benefit from coordination and resources from the umbrella organization.

You have a lot of options for how to structure your group and what to focus on. Some chapters build technology, others promote awareness on campus, and others focus on research and advocacy. Whatever your passion is within free culture, there are ways to make your chapter an effective vehicle for promoting it.

P.S., if you’d like to be involved in other ways, see examples here.
