NCDR Research to Be Highlighted at ACC.12
Twenty-nine abstracts based on data from the ACC’s NCDR® will be presented during ACC.12 and ACC.i2 with TCT in Chicago, March 24-27. Research from six registries, including the NCDR’s practice-based registry, the PINNACLE Registry® will be featured. Eleven of those accepted are oral presentations, and 18 are scientific posters.
A Best Poster Award Candidate based on data from the CARE Registry®, "Hemorrhagic and Ischemic Outcomes Following Bivalirudin vs. Unfractionated Heparin during Carotid Artery Stenting: Analysis from the NCDR," will be presented during the poster session between 9:30 a.m. and noon on Saturday, March 24.
Research from the ASCERT Study, "Survival after PCI or CABG in Older Patients with Stable Multivessel Coronary Disease: Results from the ACCF-STS Database Collaboration on the Comparative Effectiveness of Revascularization Strategies," will be presented in an ACC Special Session scheduled for 8:00 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27.

Visit ACC Central in Chicago
After NCDR.12 wraps up on Thursday, March 22, members of the NCDR team will join their ACC colleagues at ACC Central, the ACC member booth, during ACC.12 and ACC-i2 with TCT. ACC Central will be located in booth space #11027 on the expo floor, which is open March 24 – 26. If you are attending the sessions, plan to stop by to learn more about ACC quality initiatives, lifelong learning, advocacy and practice support, membership, mobile applications, the CardioSmart National Care Initiative and more!

Expert Consensus on TAVR
The American College of Cardiology Foundation (ACCF), along with the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS), the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), have released an expert consensus document to provide important guidance on the use of transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) for patients with aortic valvular stenosis. NCDR Data Quality Assurance 2011 Audit Update
Onsite visits to all facilities selected for the CathPCI Registry® and ICD Registry™ audit programs were completed at the end of last year. Preliminary site reports have been sent to the appropriate registry contact at each facility. The adjudication process has started and will be completed by the end of April 2012. Submitted data claims will be reviewed by the NCDR Staff and revised site reports will be issued only if any data claims are approved.
