Some people are scared by the scope of outer space. Me? I’m scared of SETI-X.

My feelings may be derived by the thought that I just re-watched the original 1951 version of The Day The Earth Stood Still. There is the scene when they are on the spaceship and Klaatu (Michael Rennie) is getting what looks like a primitive MRI while this obsessive, almost crazed-induced electronic pulse sound keeps getting louder and faster to where it is almost unbearable. That sound is the best description I can make of SETI-X’s music.

The anti-ambient, anti-National Geographic non-found analog orgy would scare the pants off of me if I heart that at the local observatory. I would be begging for them not to shut the door.

Their random sounds is like taking The Bloop or found sounds from meteorites impacting the rings of Saturn. Their music is intriguing while equally being haunting to downright intrusive. That is what makes this album as intriguing as sitting on the side of Lochness, hoping to catch of glimpse of Nessie. Only SETI-X induces you to believe.
