Napkin Origami: Easter Rabbit

spacer

Being that I love origami and I also like to have fun little touches of whimsy when having guests over, I "hopped" onto this idea from Martha Stewart. For the instructions below I used a square paper napkin, but when making the real thing, I'll use a well-starched cotton napkin that will also make a larger rabbit to display on the dinner plates:
Start by folding the square napkin into thirds. Fold the bottom up first, then the top down, to form a nice, even rectangle:

Fold the rectangle in half, creasing the middle, and unfold. Fold the top corners down to the center line:

Fold the bottom corners up to the middle:spacer

Bring the right and left edges together to the center. Hold it tight, as it will be a bit of a challenge to fold all the material over and hold it together:

Turn the napkin upside down. Then turn it over. Fold the bottom up:

To fasten, fold the left and right corners back, and tuck one pocket of the corner into the other (if this is hard to do, just add a little piece of tape or ribbon. Shape and pull the ears and tail and you have an adorable Easter rabbit!

So easy and fun! Love that!
