malia’s seventh birthday party

April 4, 2012

At the end of last year I threw a little backyard party for my beautiful eldest girl Malia’s seventh birthday. She is obsessed with Jamie Oliver and cooking in general and wants to be a chef when she grows up so with that in mind we offered a very fancy ‘menu’ option to our guests that included antipasto plates, mini burgers, handmade pizzas and more. The desert table was my own little baby and was comprised of little bits and vintage pieces I collected from etsy, handmade baked treats (all my own doing except for the amazing cookies that were custom designed in conjunction with Polka Dot Cookies and purchases from The Little Big Company, one of my favourite online party stores. We lazed around, ate, played, stuck lollypops to our heads, twirled with star sparklers and sent all our guests home with miniature apothecary jars filled with mango flavoured fruit rock candy from Candy Addictions. All styling be yours truly. I’m certainly no event stylist, but I like to make the girl’s birthdays as special as I can It was a very good day. All images taken with the delicious mix of the Contax 645 and Fuji 400H.

olivera + michael | sweet 50′s style vintage wedding

April 2, 2012

Oli & Mike’s wedding was definitely one I will never, ever forget. I was so smitten with the two of them long before their wedding rolled around and could not wait to see what they had created. Every time I turned around there was something new and amazing unfolding that had everything to do with who they were and how much effort they had put into absolutely everything to ensure their wedding was a true reflection of them. The adorable 50′s style dresses, the stunning hair and make up by the one and only Evy Wild from Evy’s Beauty Parlour (who I absolutely adore), the pastel cadillacs, the inspiringly beautiful Greek Orthodox ceremony, the reception filled with delicious pastel coloured details (including a MR & MRS sign hand painted by none other than….. THE GROOM) and non-stop dancing!! I could not have been more honoured to photograph such an amazing event that was created out of so much love (and wickedly cool style). A huge thanks to Len for helping me photograph this wedding to make sure we captured it the way it deserved to be.

day trip to leura | blue mountains, nsw

March 29, 2012

My absolute favourite place in the whole wide world is Leura. I love the cooler weather, the mountain air, the older buildings, the atmosphere, the gorgeous boutiques, the endless choice of warm and welcoming cafes serving good coffee and the soup of the day. Every so often I just drive up there and take a few hours to walk around and refresh my spirit. On my most recent trip, with Autumn in the air and my littlest love at my side we strolled the streets and captured it for you so we could share this important piece of us with all of you. It is my dream to one day own a little studio here so that all my amazing couples can experience this great love of mine every time they come to visit and have their own spirits refreshed in the process. I’ve heard that dreams can come true so i’ll keep on dreaming this dream for as long as it takes.
