Movin Gmap

Movin Gmap adds moving map functionality for Google Maps using a connected GPS unit. (It makes the map recenter on you as you walk/drive around).

Notes

Only tested on Windows XP so far, but 0001 should work on all Windows flavours, and 0002 should work on all platforms Python and PySerial work on. All versions assume a moderate amount of technical knowledge.

As Google Maps doesn't cover Australia, where I live, I've only been able to test this off virtual data.

This requires Python+PySerial, and is not recommended if you don't know what you're doing. Installation instructions in readme.txt. Most Windows users should stick to 0001 for now.

Movin Gmap 0001 (Proof of concept, 26kB, 11 Feb '05)
Download and unzip gmap, edit the movingmap.bat so that the 'COM1' reference on the second line refers to the COM port of your GPS unit. Then run movingmap.bat.
