Going into the American Idol 2012 elimination results on Thursday, the bottom two were pretty much a given based on the voting record, but who exactly would get eliminated was a little more difficult to figure out. While most of the American Idol predictions were close on the three contestants who would end up with the least votes, the question of who got voted off American Idol was a difficult one to answer before host Ryan Seacrest revealed the final results.

American Idol 2012 Elimination Predictions: Who Will Go Home? (VIDEO)

On American Idol 2012 last night, the judges seemed pleased overall with the contestant’s performances, but who really wowed the voters enough to make it to the American Idol top 7? On a night when most everyone gave a good performance, the ones who did not unfortunately stood out in a bad way. After last night’s performances, it seems rather obvious who should be in the bottom two, but making the call on who will actually go home in our American Idol predictions for elimination night is a little bit more difficult.
I won’t go into rehashing each of the performances here, as you can read through the American Idol recaps from last night here (part one) and here (part two). Suffice it to say that in general, the performances last night were quite good. In the case of fan favorite Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet and (surprisingly) Skylar Laine, I would say they were even great.

On Thursday, the DanceOn global entertainment network for dance debuts its first original show as part of YouTube’s original channels. D-trix Presents Dance Showdown is a new weekly interactive dance competition show featuring YouTube’s biggest names, battling for the title of ‘Dance Showdown Champion’ and $25K with the help of world-class choreographers like Tabitha & Napoleon D’Umo.

On American Idol last night, the contestants tackled songs from the 80′s with varying degrees of success. One underdog came out swinging with their best performance in weeks, while a favorite stumbled a bit with their song choice. Overall, American Idol 2012 last night was a bit drab, but there were a few real wow moments that made the Top 8 performances worth watching.

American Idol 2012: Skylar Laine Goes Country on Wind Beneath My Wings (VIDEO)

Let me admit right off the bat that I am not a country music fan. However, this season on American Idol 2012 I have almost become a convert thanks to contestant Skylar Laine. If there are any country music stars I do admire, it would be Reba McEntire, and I think Skylar Laine fits in the same kind of mold.
Even though I am a fan, I usually am still not all that fond of Skylar Laine’s song choices. Last week I really wanted her to do “Fancy” by Bobbie Gentry rather than the song she did. I just think it really didn’t do her justice on stage. Hell, I still want her to do ”Fancy” even if the judges would probably think it is too much of a ‘storytelling’ song. That song kicks butt and only a real country star can sing it properly.
