Cosmo Baker came to town last week and did a special soul/funk set at our new night Soul Touch.
I recorded it, and Cosmo agreed to broadcast it on my radio show this week! Enjoy!

I think this might be my favorite show, but I can’t see the play list!
Either way, I love GALACTIC FRACTURES!!
Yeah, Cosmo never gave me a complete playlist cause he did the show live at a gig at Middlesex Lounge.
In the olden days DJs were hiding the covers, used clean covers or removed the labels in the middle of the record. As example Bambaata, Flash, Tony Tone and Jazzy Jay did that.. Radio stations even had agents to spy out what these guys were playing at their parties. So I think it’s absolutely ok if a DJ doesn’t want to show the names of the records he plays. But if DJs do,anyhow it’s alright an good for consumers..That show from Baker is definitivley fresh!
He wasn’t playing anything really rare though…..he’s just a busy dude, didn’t have time to figure out the whole playlist. The JB set at the end is was really killed it for me. To HOT!
Oh.my.god. ri.di.cu.lous.
wish I was there that night to rock out to this!!!!
Whatever. I dind’t want to critizise PJ,…just refer to Hip Hop (culture) traditions..and make people (readers) aware of the importance of digging (not digitally) and respecting a DJ (not only for clean mixes or nice cuts). Indeed, Baker drops kool (wellknown) Breaks & truely a superfresh JB Set.
oh yeah man….i got you. just didn’t want people to think Cosmo was on the cover-up tip with that set.
Anyone know the VERY last song of the set? It was an instrumental. Can’t get it out of my head.
A guy from southern germany asked about the instrumental starting at minute 47.45. Its the b-side of “The bamboos” “Pussy footin” 7inch (on Tru Thoughts) called “Happy”. Got in on 7″ and its my favourite tune from the mix. I looooove that groove…
This is an excellent set. Chill funky stuff and sweet soulful breaks. I’ll be sure to mention it on my site (FunkDeli.com). Check it out if you have a chance.
I’m really diggin’ the GalacticFractures Radio Show too.
Thanks for set PJ and Cosmo!
