Area nurses complete first phase of Leading Nurses education initiative
About 40 directors of nursing and registered nurse leaders from nursing homes throughout the Delaware Valley have completed the first phase of Leading Nurses, a nursing education, practice and retention initiative. Kendal Outreach and Widener University are collaborating on the Leading Nurses initiative, which is funded by an $800,000 three-year grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Pressure ulcer prevention focus of new PA demonstration project
A demonstration project aimed at reducing the relatively high incidence of pressure ulcers among Pennsylvania nursing home residents and hospital patients has been funded by a new $658,000 state grant awarded to the Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative (PARRI), a program of Kendal Outreach, LLC.
