Now In: Welcome to InStore

Welcome to the Continuing and Professional Education curriculum developed for design practitioners by InformeDesign. These courses have been developed around health, safety, and welfare topics for architects, interior designers, landscape architects, facility managers, urban planners and designers, housing specialists, graphic designers, and the public who are interested in earning Continuing and Professional Education credits.

Course Formats
There are three types of courses you can choose to improve you knowledge about design and human behavior research, which you can then use to inform you design process.

Text-Based courses (TX): Read one issue of Implications, InformeDesign's monthly newsletter, and five Research Summaries, all of which focus on the same topic.

Inquiry (IQ): Read an issue of Inquiry, a topic-oriented research brief focused on a single topic in which evidence-based design criteria is summarized from InformeDesign to provide you with a quick method of updating your knowledge.

Web Casts (WC): View a one-hour Web Cast, presented by an expert designer or researcher in the field and focused on a specific topic.

InformeDesign is a continuing education course provider for the following organizations:

  • American Institute for Architects (AIA)
  • The Center for Health Design's Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification (EDAC™) 

Additionally, InformeDesign submits courses to:

  • Interior Design Continuing Education Council (IDCEC)

You can also certify with your own professional organization by following their guidelines. All InStore courses have been approved by EDAC for 1 hour of continuing education credit. See individual course descriptions to determine approval from all other organizations.

Process and Fees
To earn continuing education credit, read the course materials or view the Web Cast, complete a short 12-question proficiency exam, and submit your materials for evaluation. The fee includes secured access to the course, access to the exam, and a certificate of completion for your records. Each course takes 60-70 minutes to complete.
