EA Voted Worst 2012 Company in America in Consumerist User Poll

Ouch! Electronic Arts has taken the Golden Poo trophy for the 2012 worst company in America. Over the course of the last few weeks The Consumerist has been running a bracket user poll on the country’s worst companies. The final poll was between EA and Bank of America.

“After more than 250,000 votes, Consumerist readers ultimately decided that the type of greed exhibited by EA, which is supposed to be making the world a more fun place, is worse than Bank of America’s avarice, which some would argue is the entire point of operating a bank.

To those who might sneer at something as “non-essential” as a video game company winning the Worst Company In America vote: It’s that exact kind of attitude that allows people to ignore the complaints as companies like EA to nickel and dime consumers to death.”

Leisure Suit Larry Kickstarter

Posted April 2nd, 2012  |  Comments »

Replay Games has started a Kickstarter campaign for a new Leisure Suit Larry game. The company has licensing in order and has apparently convinced Al Lowe to come out of retirement for a re-imagining of the original creation.

So why are we jumping on the Kickstarter bandwagon with LEISURE SUIT LARRY IN THE LAND OF THE LOUNGE LIZARDS?

It’s simple. We love Larry…Larry Laffer. We were there when he was born, in 1987. We were there for his last adventure, LOVE FOR SAIL, almost exactly 10 years later.

And we’ve long wished for a version that would combine the characters and game play we already love with:

  • The freedom to play on mobile devices
  • A modern point-and-click/touchscreen interface
  • Updated, ultra-high res graphics
  • Fully voiced characters
  • Even more of the humor that’s made Al Lowe a household name…like “Borders” and “Enron”!

So we’re making it. From scratch. And we want YOUR help.”
