spacer … is a band made up of Rinde Eckert, vocals and accordion, Jason Trueting, drums, Mark Haanstra, bass, and myself, guitar.

We are working on our first CD to be released in the fall of 2011. We play in clubs but are also interested in collaborative ventures with choreographers, film makers etc.

Here are some links to some live recordings:
[I want to put links in here but we are getting new video and live tracks from the show on Friday night so I will wait to use those links].

Our next performance is Friday October 29, 2010, 7:30 pm and Joe’s Pub in New York City. For Tickets and information call 212-967-7555 or go to www.joespub.com/component/option,com_shows/task,view/Itemid,40/id,5427

Improvisation

spacer I regularly improvise in a variety of contexts. There is improvisation for an audience and there is improvisation for personal growth and edification. I am involved in both.

Percussionist Jason Trueting and I perform as Little Farm.

I frequently improvise with students in the context of composition lessons, just for fun, or as part of the seminar that I teach called House Band: composers/performers. I lead this seminar at residencies outside of Princeton University as well. The next installment of House Band will be at Tanglewood in July, 2011. Exact dates TBA.

New work:
I am in the process of collaborating with choreographer/videographer Mark DeChiazza and dancer Ellysa Dole to create a large new work for solo electric guitar, dancer and video.
