Indonesian Electrical Power Society (MKI)

The Indonesian Electrical Power Society (MKI) was established in 1998, based on the spirit of Law No. 15/1985 on Electricity, by stakeholders of Indonesian electrical power industry as a forum of communication, coordination and consultation for the Indonesian electrical power sector.

MKI is a non-profit organization which activities involve formulating opinions and ideas to develop and expand the electrical power industry in Indonesia, at the national as well as international levels.

MKI membership covers all elements individuals, associations and companies, nationals as well as internationals, which are directly associated with electrical power sector activities in Indonesia.

PT PLN (Persero)

PT PLN (Persero) (PLN) is a state electricity enterprise which has been entrusted by law as the authority holder of electricity business in Indonesia.

PLN currently manages over 30,000 MW of power generating capacity and 35 million costumers throughout archipelago, makes electricity ratio 58 % and the electricity growth rate 7-8 % per annum. The government targets to raise electricity ratio to become 90% by 2020.PLN corporate and subsidiary companies are among MKI Charter Members.

Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and the Western Pacific, or commonly known as AESIEAP, is formed as a result of the first technical conference of representatives of the electricity supply industry in Southeast Asia and the Western Pacific in Hong Kong in 1975. AESIEAP is registered as a society in Hong Kong and operates under a formally adopted constitution.

Its main objectives include: advance the exchange of expertise and technology between electric power organizations across countries within the region; promote the cooperation of international, regional, governmental and non-governmental electric power companies; study problems at regional level; sponsor meetings, conferences, seminars and the like on matters. It has become a powerful and professional key player among electric power industries.
