Getting to Know Us
Quiet Conservationist
An avid bird hunter and angler, attorney Ben Vaughan's love of water and wildlife doesn’t end with sport. He has long been an influential advocate for the environment and conservation. In addition to dedicating his law practice to the environment and natural resources, Ben has served the Coastal Conservation Association for more than 23 years, and chaired other organizations including the University of Texas Marine Science Institute Advisory Board and the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute Advisory Board of Texas A&M University.
His contributions and leadership over the last four decades have earned him a reputation as a quiet conservationist who is tireless in his efforts to preserve our natural resources.
Ben’s essay, “The Bays and Estuaries of Texas: An Ephemeral Treasure?”, included in the book The Living Waters of Texas (published by Texas A&M University Press, 2010) is a tribute to his love of the Texas coast and his belief in the importance of preserving our state’s precious resources.
