spacer Doug Carlin E-mail Doug

Doug Carlin was appointed as one of our elders in March 2002. He is not new to Highland Heights since he served eleven years as an elder previously. It is very exciting to have him in this capacity. Doug serves honorably and reverently. He is very easy to talk to and is always willing to help anyone in need. Doug, Nedia and their two children have been an integral part of the growth of this congregation over the years. Doug’s favorite verse is Deuteronomy 29:29 and his goal as an Elder is given in Matthew 22:37 & 39.

spacer Bryan Coulter E-mail Bryan

My favorite scripture is John - chapter 15 where we are challenged to grow and bear fruit.

My desire as an elder is to give my very best effort to serve our members in a manner that will encourage and strengthen their faith in Christ. I hope to help strengthen our congregation by spreading my love for the Truth of God’s Word and its power in our lives. My favorite thoughts are that as Christians we understand we are forgiven daily by prayer and to learn to focus on the new day before us. My pledge is that our congregation grow in spirit of God’s love for us and to one another.

spacer Al Evans E-mail Al

I’ve been married 34 years as of 17 July, 2010 to the same woman. How about that! Have two sons: Lee, 28 and Brett 26. Lee has his own Tile business and Brett is a student at MTSU. My wife has worked for Doctor Johnson (orthodontist) for 26 years. I’ve taught school and coached track/cross country at Ezell Harding and La Vergne High School for the same amount to time. The Air National Guard has been another place of employment for the last 22 years. During that time I’ve worked as an aircrew member on a C-130 and served as an operations officer in the 118th APS. My hobbies include fishing (with Lee and a few of my fishing buddies, Don Winningham and Charlie Giffen) playing golf with Brett, my parents, and my brother. I love doing Church activities and love the people at Highland.

spacer Glenn Foutch E-mail Glenn

Glenn Foutch has been an elder for 18 years. He sees his responsibility as leading the flock, oversight, feed, and protect from false teaching. He really enjoys helping someone through difficult times and leading others to Christ. He has many favorite verses including John 3:16, Psalms 23, and John 14:1-3. He encourages the members at Highland to grow spiritually, love God and keep His commandments. His vision for Highland is very simple: for us all to grow spiritually and reach out for the lost.

spacer Albert Godsey E-mail Albert

Albert Godsey has been an elder for nearly 19 years. He sees his main purpose as overseeing and serving the flock at Highland Heights. His favorite part of being an elder is helping others, conducting bible studies, and watching Christians grow and mature. His favorite Bible verses are Romans 8:28 and Matthew 6:33. When asked to make a comment to the church he said he hopes that we all, “Follow the Bible and let it be our guide.” He wishes for all Christians to be involved in the work at Highland and for all to attend the worship services. He simply prays that he can be the Christian he should be and also the elder he should be.

spacer Roy Mullins E-mail Roy

Roy Mullins has been an elder for 11 years. He is primarily responsible for the education program as well as the strengthening of all the members at Highland. His favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13 which reads “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Though Brother Roy is very soft spoken, his heart and fervor for the Lord is great.

spacer Bill Stafford E-mail Bill

Bill Stafford was appointed an elder in October 2005. Bill is humbled by the responsibility of serving – working to see that the truth is taught. While his duties include overseeing the finances of the congregation, he feels his primary responsibility is the spiritual well being of the family at Highland Heights. His vision for Highland Heights is continued spiritual growth in God’s will – and with that, will come love for one another and a growth in our numbers. He encourages participation in the many activities of the church – again gaining a greater love for God and one another. Romans 5:8 reads “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”, and is one of his favorite passages.

spacer Don Winningham E-mail Don

Don Winningham was appointed as an elder in 2010.  He was very humbled by the opportunity to serve and hopes that each individual in the congregation will grow spiritually and in the understanding of the magnificent gift of God’s grace. Don and his wife Lori have been married for 32 years and have two children who were blessed to be a part of this congregation for most of their childhood years. Don and Lori have attended Highland for approximately 18 years. Don’s favorite bible verse is Romans 8:38-39, in summary, nothing can separate us from the love of God through Christ our savior.
