• Thank you for visiting the website of Abiding Word. We are a diverse group of likeminded individuals within the Confessional Lutheran faith community on the Northeast side of Cincinnati. Whether you seek a church home or are simply curious about what the Bible says, you are welcome to join us.

   

  Abiding Word remains committed to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ to a world corrupted by sin. Each week, our worship focuses on the message that “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8, NIV).

   

  You are more than welcome at our church. Abiding Word is a place where you can discover the living, loving God; where you can grow in your relationship to Jesus; and where you can enjoy the company of a church family committed to each other and to serving the community. • Abiding Word Lutheran Church is affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The WELS has roots going back to 1850, and has become a confessional, mission-minded Lutheran church today.

• Get connected to our church through Bible Information Classes.  The classes are designed to acquaint you with all the truths of Scripture. You can ask any question you might have about the Bible, the Christian faith, the history of the church, etc. This course is free and has simple weekly homework assignments, intended to help you incorporate the Bible into your everyday life.

   

  Bible Information Classes are held with the Pastor, at a date, time and location of your choosing. The class is a requirement for membership. Attendance at worship does not obligate you to enroll in the class, but completing the class is required if you wish to become a member of Abiding Word. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW

  Registered members may use our prayer chain to submit prayers privately to the pastor or to all members of the congregation that subscribe to the prayer chain.

  We follow a form of worship called the liturgy. The word liturgy means service. In our worship, the emphasis on service is two-fold. The primary emphasis centers around God's gracious, undeserved service to us through the Word and the Sacraments (Baptism and the Lord's Supper). A secondary emphasis centers on our service to the Lord through prayer and praise. Last Tuesday, jurors found Casey Anthony ‘not guilty’ for the murder of her daughter, Caylee. I don’t know your personal feelings about Casey Anthony or the verdict that was announced last Tuesday. It appears that the majority of people do not like her. As far as the verdict, many believe the prosecution did not prove its case. Many more feel like Anthony “got away” with murder. I see this sense of injustice on T.V., through people like Nancy Grace and Bill O’Reilly. I hear people in my community and congregation express it too.
