It was not Terence Schlesinger's intention to become a Shaman and healer. In his own words, “the Universe has its ways,” and it had its way with him. At twelve years of age, Terence already began to exhibit extrasensory abilities. People would often be drawn to him and express, “I know you'll tell me the truth.” He was able to easily and unselfconsciously answer their questions. For years, Terence tried to suppress this “gift” so as to not feel too different or unable to fit in. He had been studying alternative healing for over twenty years which subsequently led to his move to Kauai. It was on the island where he felt a powerful energy that guided and allowed him to accept the full range of his abilities. He had also studied with various healing masters and in time, experienced an “invisible graduation and initiation” into Shamanism.
