QHotels Scoops Top Award for Conference Service Delivery

QHotels has been awarded the No.1 hotel brand in the Large Groups category of the VenueVerdict Awards, as well as scooping two Gold Standard Accreditations for exceptional customer service at The Westerwood Hotel & Golf Resort, near Glasgow, and The Midland in Manchester.

The VenueVerdict awards, given by BDRC Continental, the UK’s largest independent market research agency, are determined by feedback from almost 24,000 customer surveys across 350 UK venues. Every week conference and meeting venues and hotels across the UK are assessed in this independent survey of event organisers.

The tough VenueVerdict scores are born out of a series of questions to event organisers and hosts on their whole conference experience.  From the moment they make their enquiry, to understanding objectives, food delivery and Wi-Fi service, the results compare the UK’s leading hotel conference groups and measure the ability to deliver consistent customer service, of which QHotels was the top hotel group in the category of 20 hotels and more.

QHotels’ Managing Director, Michael Purtill, said: “We are delighted to receive the VenueVerdict award for No1. brand in the Large Hotel Groups, which is testimony to our high levels of customer service and hard work in the conference and events sector. We use this valuable, independent customer feedback from VenueVerdict to make continual developments and improvements to our conference offering. We improved our IT infrastructure earlier this year to allow all organisers and delegates to make use of free Wi-Fi access across our hotels, and our VenueVerdict score in this area is now 10% above the national average.” 

Teams at The Westerwood Hotel and The Midland are also celebrating after receiving Gold Standard Accreditations, which are awarded to individual hotels that meet very challenging VenueVerdict targets to deliver consistently exceptional customer service. Only the top five per cent of participating venues reach the coveted Gold Standard.

The last year has seen a string of successes for QHotels with accolades including AA Eco Hotel Group of the Year 2011-12, 7 Gold and 15 Silver awards from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) and top hotel group in the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) League Table.
