Wholphin Screening @ Cinema Speakeasy SF!

spacer

Join us and the folks at Cinema Speakeasy SF for a night of Wholphin shorts and adult beverages on Thursday, June 2nd, 7:30 PM at the Gray Area Foundation for the Arts.

We’ll be swigging beers and showing films from the newly-released Wholphin No. 13, along with favorites from past issues.  Come on down and see Lizzy Caplan and TJ Miller as a very inebriated couple, a shy Spaniard and his invisible friend, the most humiliating break up of all time, a cathartically wonderful and uplifting short doc about an obsessive bat photographer, Doc Ellis on acid, tai chi master taffy, a nail-biting stunt film, and much more!

Series: Cinefamily’s 2nd Annual Comedy Festival

Tonight! 6/24 @ 8:00pm
Los Angeles
Series: Cinefamily’s 2nd Annual Comedy Festival
Cinefamily’s Comedy Shorts Showcase
Co-presented by Dublab

With ready access to video equipment, more and more of the best young upcoming comics are turning to making shorts films, rather than doing stand-up or sketch comedy. In Cinefamily’s 1st Annual Comedy Shorts Showcase, you’ll see pieces from a typically eclectic range of sources — from Dublab-curated music videos to the newest additions to the YouTube classics canon (in better resolution than you’ve ever seen!), from Sundance official selections to outsider art obscurities existing way below the radar. We cap off this night of shits ‘n giggles with the hit web series Drunk History’s most very special episode: “Too Drunk History!!”, in which all of the filmed participants got a little too wasted to tell a cohesive history book narrative. Whether through passing out, wimping out, raging out or simply spiraling out into such sloshy babble that it demands subtitles, it’s a blast to watch these sauced lecturers fail so spectacularly.
