Welcome TO THE NEW WEBSITE
You might wonder about the image to the right. That's Willard, our Editor in Chief, enjoying the most recent issue of Epiphany in the bath. We want you to enjoy Epiphany in strange places also, so we're announcing a new kind of literary contest. We want pictures of you, our readers, reading Epiphany in strange, beautiful, and perhaps even creepy places. We'll post the pics on our blog, on twitter, and on facebook. The best pic wins $100 and a free gift subscription. For more info, click >>here. Happy reading!
The new issue (Winter/Fall 2011-2012) continues to exhibit our editors' eyes for talent and fingers on the proverbial pulse, with a slew of poets, memoirists, and fiction writers from across the globe. You can view a sample of the goods by clicking on the links to the right.
We're particularly pleased to present in this issue the first chapter of Victor Martinovich's novel, Paranoia, translated by Diane Nemec Ignashev. Written in part on the author's cell phone for fear of unlawful seizure of the laptop, Paranoia was in fact censored bysecret police who are still (almost unthinkably) known as the "KGB" in the author's home country of Belarus. Epiphany is the first to publish this work in English, and the book will soon be available through Northwestern University Press.
As you thumb through the pages of the new issue, you may notice that the pagination lags a bit from the Table of Contents; this is nothing more than the collective brain attempting to keep up with the speed of language (ahem...and a slight snafu on our part, which we hope doesn't inhibit your reading experience too greatly). As with all good things, this Epiphany is an imperfect one.
Wishing you the best of contemporary literature and time in which to enjoy it,
Martin Rock
Managing Editor
