Kowethas an Yeth Kernewek is a registered charity which promotes the Cornish language through a wide range of publications, classes and events including the Pennseythun Gernewek, the largest annual gathering of Cornish speakers.
History
Cornwall and its language have been inextricably linked throughout history, and its presence can still be seen all around in placenames and family names.
Why Learn Cornish?
The Cornish language has long played an important part of our culture and is still all around us in place names and dialect. Henry Jenner, pivotal Cornish revivalist, said, "Why should Cornishmen learn Cornish? ... Because they are Cornishmen."
