Background
In the 1990`s Lydell Gray was employed as an orthopedic technician at Greenville Memorial Hospital System in the Greenville South Carolina area. Lydell specialized in the care of patients with orthopedic needs, such as casting, and traction therapy. He listened as families of clients often expressed frustration that they had few alternatives other than to place their loved ones in the nursing facility. Before long, Lydell resolved to establish his own business to provide care for homebound senior citizens.
Getting Started
In the summer of 2002, Lydell resigned from his position with the Hospital System and started a non-medical home care agency called "Samaritan Bed and Bath Service, Inc." in Greenville, South Carolina.
The agency that Lydell established has serviced great numbers of clients and established an excellent reputation in the Greenville, SC area. In 2006, Samaritan BBS Inc. became a Medicaid provider in South Carolina, providing non-medical and skilled nursing in eight counties in South Carolina.

We Recruit Experience!
You deserve to have a caregiver who is experienced in providing the services that are needed in your home. We don't believe in "on the job training!" Many of our caregivers have worked with us for years. Our Samaritan companions have a strong employment history in caring for seniors and have references from reliable sources (previous clients, agencies, healthcare institutions, religious and volunteer organizations etc.). And Samaritan BBS Inc. requires multiple interviews with each caregiver before they can be hired or referred to a client as an Samaritan companion.
