• What is The LAMP?

The LAMP is a non-profit organization creating a grassroots movement to reform and improve media. This is achieved through free media literacy workshops and public events for youth, parents and educators.
  • What is Media Literacy?

Media literacy is knowledge about your mediated environment. This includes media messages you receive or produce, and technology you use every day for work, school, information, entertainment and personal relationships. To be media literate is to be critical and empowered in a world saturated with media.

LAMP Testimonials

  • “Finally, critical thinking about media in a way that is teachable, fun for kids and incredibly empowering…[The LAMP] is authentic media literacy that can be used in schools and at home to encourage people to both create better media and become better consumers of media.” – Dr. Alice Wilder, Cartoon Network
  • “The LAMP has done great work in getting students, families and educators involved and experienced with varying forms of media and technology. In the long term, its programs will be key to preparing our city’s children and ensuring that they are ready and able to participate to an increasingly digital and media-driven society.” - Bill de Blasio, New York City Public Advocate
