Kate is the author of Go Green Get Lean: Trim Your Waistline with the Ultimate Low-Carbon Footprint Diet (Rodale). A  media spokesperson, professional speaker, author, columnist, blogger and consultant, Kate’s work is driven by a simple purpose: to help people reclaim their health and rediscover their most valuable asset- their own personal energy.

Kate graduated magna cum laude from Middlebury College and holds a Masters Degree in Nutrition and Health Promotion from Simmons College. Before forming her own company, she spent two years living and working in Italy which shaped her deep love of sumptuous but healthy foods, despite having been raised on a diet purely from “a bag, a box, a pouch and a can.”

Kate is a registered dietitian and a professional member of the American Dietetic Association, who awarded her the 2004 Recognized Young Dietitian of the Year in Massachusetts. She holds memberships with the Nutrition Entrepreneurs Dietetic Practice Group, the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition Practice Group, the National Association for Female Executives, and donates 10% of all profits to the charity organization she co-founded and serves on the Board of Directors, www.chierfoundation.org .
