Commentators

Radio Events

They came into our homes daily; our living rooms, our bedsides over the radio. These were people who told us about sorrow, joy, hope, tragedy. They consoled us, instructed us and we listened. These broadcast news pioneers were bright and articulate. They were the radio news commentators.

Events that shaped our lives; that became a part of us simply by our listening. Radio was there reporting on these events. The immediacy of the stories developed over time beginning with dramatic re-creations and later to actual broadcasts as they happened. Radio was our link to the world beyond our community.
