For those wanting to listen

January 19, 2012 in Site News

Hello all,

The tune in links are to the right of the site.

During live events ( at Clubs ) We are restricted on internet access. This means the Dial Up stream is the only stream we will use in most cases for live events.
The Dial up stream uses AAC+ encoding, this means the quality is actually really good at 24k, just not studio quality like the 128k.
You can listen to the dial up stream with WINAMP, I’m told the new Real Player works and I can confirm on iPhone or Mac has no issues.

MOST live events will be rebroadcasted at FULL quality a day or 2 after the event.

Several have asked for Logan, comment to this thread and let us know when you will be around and we will rebroadcast it.

10th (and final) season of The Rock Solid Pressure Radio Competitons

January 5, 2012 in Site News

Rock Solid Pressure airs on KWTF Monday Nights at 6pm Central
Email: rocksolidpressure@yahoo.com
Website: www.RockSolidPressure.com
The nationally syndicated FM and Internet radio broadcast ‘Rock Solid Pressure’ featuring the dungeon duo of the airwaves ‘J-Rock and Patty The Radio Girl’ are preparing to unleash their 10th (and final) season of The Rock Solid Pressure Radio Competitons on January 9th 2012.

Rock Solid Pressure exploded onto the scene in a small Connecticut radio station in 2002. It originated as a revolt to the fluffy reality music TV shows. The broadcast quickly became an underground hit in a stagnant and suffering national music scene. Live Showcases for Sony Records quickly followed and the rest is etched in hard rock history. The multi sponsored show moved to Central Florida and now commands an immense loyal following through FM and internet syndication. The Rock Solid Pressure Showcase is no longer an exclusive event for members of Sony Records A&R. Many new labels and industry insiders have jumped on the panels through the years, and a dynasty has been forged for the unsigned music community with this annual event. The FM radio competitions, which kicks off on Jan 9th, will determine who we will see on the Showcase stage in September of 2012. Four unsigned bands go head to head each week in a competition where the listener’s realtime votes move their favorite bands into victory or defeat. When a grand prize winner is found (This band has to win 5 matches in a row), the Rock Solid Pressure Radio Competitions will take it’s final bow after 10 years of high profile battles.

“The Rock Solid Pressure Radio Show will not be going off the air, just the competitions after the 2012 season ends” explains Co-Host J-Rock “We have a small crew, and it’s become too big of a monster for us to handle every year. We are also heavily embedded in the concert music industry down here in Florida, and the workload is insane. We’ll still be helping out the unsigned bands, that will never change, In fact, we’ll always be accepting submissions for the normal broadcast, but sadly we have to let the competitions go”. He states

The annual live Showcase is always heralded by the media as being more attentive than other events of this magnitude. It’s not about having the right connections to grace the stage. It’s all about the music and serious networking. The labels and industry insiders know they have a job to do on the panel. That’s to critique, and possibly sign 20 of the best ‘hand picked’ bands from around the country. The Showcase has since become one of the most talked about events in North America. It also gives the general public a peek inside the recording industry. 2012 will be the 10 Year Anniversary, so expect the biggest spectacle EVER!. If you have never attended the Showcase (Especially if you are an unsigned band), Plan your vacation to the Tampa Bay Gulf in late September 2012. The best of all Alternative/Rock/Metal bands will be offered up for the industry in a slam bang weekend event of heavy duty networking. Florida is still reeling from the latest Showcase which destroyed the landscape this past September 24th.

Bands have been signed to these fine labels as a direct result from Rock Solid Pressure: BEILER BROTHERS, RAT PAK RECORDS (Century Media Dist), THE MEDIA TWIST GROUP, CITY CANYONS RECORDS, NIGHTMARE RECORDS, VENOMM RECORDS, and more.
Many bands have also been presented to the board at SONY RECORDS

Alumni and current members of the Showcase panels include: KEN KRONGARD (J Records, RCA, Mercury, etc. Ken is one of the most well known A&R reps in the WORLD!), HARVEY LEEDS (Sony / Live Nation)
JOE CERINI (VP of A&R at Sony Records) CHRIS KURTZ (The Media Twist Group: A full service label and national tour organization), MATT LaPLANT (Beiler Brothers Records), SCOTT JENSEN (Mercury Records), JEFFREY PRINGLE (Former GM of Trans Con, former CAA agent, currently heads John Galt Ent), QUINTON SHEER (Working associate of Ken Krongard, Entertainment Lawyer, Radio Host) JOE O’ BRIEN (Rat Pak Records, Century Media Dist), TREBOR LLOYD (City Canyons Records), KATHLEEN HOLSTEAD (Venomm Records), LANCE KING (Nightmare Records), STEVE DUBE (Decadent Suite Records), IVAN PENA (Mohawk Bomb Records), and more. Superstar guests have sat in on the panels through the years as well. Also many magazines and media companies have also sat in on the panel.

The Rock Solid Pressure Show has an uncanny knack for discovering the best unsigned bands in the world and moving their career forward. The show’s track record is spotless. They get bands signed every year..PERIOD!! The annual Showcase is the logical extension of the broadcast, and it’s been a rite of passage for unsigned bands since 2002.

The radio show is also known for featuring the best A-List superstar guests as well. They have been visited in their dungeon by ROB ZOMBIE, SHERI MOON ZOMBIE, STEVE VAI, PAUL GILBERT, RUDY SARZO, WAYNE STATIC, BILLY SHEEHAN, BILL WARD, DAVID ELLEFSONJON, JON ANDERSON from YES, CARMINE APPICE, ALAN PARSONS, MAX CAVALERA,, PAGE HAMILTON, MICHAEL WILTON from QUEENSRYCHE, BUMBLEFOOT from GUNS N ROSES, JOHN 5, RAYMOND HERRERA, ROSS THE BOSS, RICK DERRINGER,and tons more. Also entire band interviews with DOWN, BLUE OYSTER CULT, KAMELOT, KMFDM, SHADOWS FALL, SAINT VITUS, LORDS OF ACID, FIREHOUSE, HELIX and many many more. They are also embedded in the horror movie industry, and feature many of the great players of the genre such as ROB & SHERI MOON ZOMBIE, BILL MOSELEY, SID HAIG, MICHAEL BERRYMAN, LINNEA QUIGLEY, LESLIE EASTERBROOK, SHAWNEE SMITH, TYLER MANE, and many more They even hung out with CARMEN ELECTRA at her Super Bowl Party in Tampa 2010. See the entire list of guests at the site.

J-Rock and Patty The Radio Girl are continually making hard rock history with their broadcast. They feature the best signed, and unsigned bands every Monday night, and right now, it’s the most exciting time to tune in as they gear up for the final season of competitions. The duo can also be seen hosting, and organizing national concert events and festivals at The State Theatre in St. Petersburg Florida. Their name is also a staple on the music scene worldwide..

J-Rock and Patty have been in the music scene individually for over 20 years. J-Rock is a well known musician from South Jersey who has toured with some of the biggest bands in the world. Many of his 8 albums have charted internationally. He’s also a well known former rock journalist, and presently is the Events Coordinator/Production Manager for The State Theatre, and A&R consultant for many record labels including Sony Records. Patty was a corporate radio host from Connecticut, and worked in television in Greece. When the pair teamed up as the broadcast duo for ‘Rock Solid Pressure’, an enigma was born and they literally revolutionized radio with their fun, interactive show, which broadcasts from a Dungeon no less. Corporate sponsors work hand in hand with indie sponsors of the broadcast. Nothing like this has ever happened in a corporate America world. The Rock Solid Pressure Show is now being aired on small FM markets around the country who are fed up with corporate domination and the same old revolving playlist and payola schemes. A pilot TV show has already been completed, and is also being shopped to networks. Although they have that rebellious, and dark edge, the show is not anti-corporate. J-Rock and Patty just hit on a happy medium to bridge the gap between the underground and the corporate system and it worked. If you are not initiated to their world, we suggest you take a peek at their website and check out the amazing lineup of guests who appear regularly on the broadcast.

J-Rock works extensively with Major/Indie labels. He’s known as a guy with ‘golden ears’ and he’s a prime go-to guy for a ton of A&R reps around the globe. His method is finding the alternative to the pop sensations being bred on reality music TV and shattering that concept. He’s a rock guy that understands the other side of a rapidly recovering marketable industry that was damaged by these music reality shows. The time is now for the rock bands to shine and put an end to this American Idol / X Factor mentality once and for all. The Rock Solid Pressure Radio Competitions, which kick off on Jan 9th 2012, deal with ‘real’ screened bands who are ready for the next level. Professional bands who have worked hard and paid their dues. It’s not an easy task to find bands who are mere inches from dominating the world, but every year, they unleash an amazing array of unsigned rockers that shock and amaze. Tune in every Monday night and get involved in the action.
