What is it? Google Adsense is a Google program that pays you whenever a visitor to your website or blog clicks on on of your adverts. You may have noticed that Google displays ads whenever you search for something. The ads are usually displayed on the right hand side and at the top of the page. Website or Blog owners can display similar ads by copying and pasting a bit of Google Adsense code onto their website. This will automatically display ads related to the content of your site. Google Adsense is free to join, but you must have a website to apply for an Adsense account. Costs - A domain name is around $10 per year and a hosting account around $10 per month. Google Adsense is free to join. The Google Adense 1K Blueprint is $47 (one time).

What is it? Drop shipping involves sourcing physical products from special companies (known as drop shipping companies) and selling them at a higher price. In this particular business model you are responsible for selling the products and the drop shipping company is responsible for stocking and shipping the product. You just need to pay for the products from the drop shipping company and sell them at a profit. The ideal place to sell your products is by opening an EBay account. EBay gets a huge amount of traffic so is the perfect place to see whether or not your chosen products will sell well and make a profit. If they do you could also consider selling them via your own website or on other auction sites as well.

Cost - Cost of products and listing them on auction sites such as EBay (this can vary depending on the product)

Potential Earnings - Unlimited and dependend on the products you sell and how much you sell!

This is not something that you are likely to get rich from, but it is a nice, easy and low stress way to supplement your income. I recommend taking out a free membership with Elance or ODesk initially and having a look around in the Admin/Support section to find data entry jobs or similar admin jobs. All of these are independent jobs that can be done from home. If you are unable to find a job you may also want to try Global Data Entry as this outlines a method to do data entry regardless of which country you are in.

Cost - Free - $50 (one time) depending on method used.

Potential Earnings - Variable depending on the types of jobs taken and how much work you complete.

Do remember that it is unrealistic to expect to make money overnight with these business opportunities and ideas. If you are starting your own website it can take a few weeks or months to build up traffic (visitors) and start making sales.
