Wilderness Voyageurs is headquartered in the small mountain town of Ohiopyle, Pennsylvania in the heart of the Laurel Highlands. Located just 1.5 hours from Pittsburgh, this is the outdoor playground for Western Pennsylvania.
We offer rafting trips on 15 different rivers in 3 states, adventure sports instruction, and Inn to Inn Biking vacations throughout the country, we’ve got you covered!
Whitewater Rafting
Spring rafting season kicks off in April with the powerful undammed Cheat River in Albright, West Virginia. The season is short but well worth putting on the calendar. The Lower Yough in Ohiopyle State Park, is our most popular class III rafting trip. Available every day from April 1 to October 31 and a minimum age of 12, this rafting trip is appropriate for a wide range of folks looking to have fun.
Family rafting options are numerous in our neck of the woods; rafting trips are available for kids as young as 5. Choose from the Middle Yough in Ohiopyle, the Cheat Narrows in West Virginia, or the North Branch of the Potomac, forming the border between WV and Maryland.
For adrenaline junkies, the Upper Yough in Friendsville, Maryland provides class V whitewater all summer long due to water releases from Deep Creek Lake.
Biking Vacations
See the country by bike, a unique and luxurious way to vacation. Whether you are cruising around the Chesapeake Bay, biking from Pittsburgh to DC, or cycling the Gettysburg National Park, you will feel the power of these places.
Choose from 3 to 6 day tours, on roads or rail trails. All trips include a Support And Gear (SAG) vehicle that will carry your luggage, water, snacks and will magically appear if you want a lift. See, no pressure. Just fun!
