VIDEOS AND VARIOUS UPDATES

01.17.11

I realize it's been quite a while since I posted an update on what I've been up to...so hopefully this will fill in some of those blanks.
Below is a short, fun video profile of a guy I met about his work and collection of art.

I did a short motiongraphics piece of branding for a forthcoming website.

Losing Ground, a piece I worked on for AARP, has an updated ending, after the subject Richard "Mike" Eberspecher passed away November 10, 2010. The story has received nods from LA Times Best of the Web in an October Article & from Multimedia Muse's Top 8 Projects of 2010.

Also worth checking out these videos produced at the Eddie Adams Workshop from this past fall. All the pieces were produced over an intense four days by some really talented folks. I created the EAW brand intro for each team as well as the titling and text design for each story.

THIS & THAT

10.19.10

I've had a pretty jam-packed schedule of projects and ventures as of late; spent the last two weekends at photography workshops. Had a blast, met a lot of cool folks and made some content I was excited about. Here's some it: a set of images from various wanderings, and two multimedia pieces. I'll be posting more recent work in the coming days.

The last four of the nine frames are from a drifter, named Zach, I encountered, the rest are my own meanderings.

spacer Losing Ground is a multimedia piece I worked on for AARP Bulletin in collaboration with Brad Horn, Matt Slaby of LUCEO Images and Tyler Strickland.

Tom + Dale is a story I shot and edited in nearly 48 hours for Syracuse University's Fall Workshop. Enjoy.

PRINCE OF WALES ISLAND, ALASKA

I spent nearly two weeks on an island off the southern coast of Alaska visiting my brother in mid-August. It was a refreshing break spent kayaking, hiking, exploring and relaxing after an awesome, jam-packed summer in New York City interning at NYTimes.

"Jumping into the water from cliffs in the northwest Bronx is a tradition that mixes adolescent swagger, lore and a bit of danger." I had a 3 image spread run in the Metro section of today's Sunday paper. The first 3 images of the above slideshow are the ones from the paper, the following 4 were some out takes I liked from the day. Check out the article.

Villanova at Syracuse basketball game was last night, there were more than 34,000 in attendance. The energy of having that many people in one space was pretty awesome. Instead of focusing on the game itself I found the periphery and people more interesting.

A REAL WEBSITE

After nearly two years of bridawson.com sitting as a list of links, I decided it was time to make something of it. I've got a number of photos and thoughts I'll be chipping away at posting on here.
