WAPI Membership

Who can become a member of WAPI ?

Full membership is only open to qualified and / or experienced practising investigators who have proven professional competence.

All members must comply with the strict WAPI Code of Ethics giving clients assured quality of service.

The stated experience and qualifications of all members is verified before enrolment.

How to Apply

2. Read the Association Aims and Code of Ethics
3. Decide which membership level you wish to apply for
4. Complete the Online Application Process ß (click on the link)
5. Your application will be considered by the Governing Council and the result will be communicated to you by the Membership Secretary

Student Membership

Open to those who are studying or entering into study for a recognised basic qualification in Investigation. Limited to one year only. Fee £25.

Associate Membership

Open to those who (a) have gained a Certificate of Achievement in Investigation from a recognised organisation, or (b) are training to become investigators in a professional practice. Annual Fee £50.

Full Membership

Open to those who (a) have gained a sector related or industry relevant, officially recognised qualification, or (b) have at least three years’ experience in professional practice, or (c) hold an investigators licence in their home country/state or (d) are nominated and elected by the Association’s Governing Council. Annual Fee £100.

Corporate Membership

For limited companies. Must have at least one principal who (a) has gained a sector related or industry relevant, officially recognised qualification, or (b) has at least three years’ experience in professional practice, or (c) holds an investigators licence in their home country/state, or (d) has been nominated and elected by the Association’s Governing Council AND/OR one Director who is a full member of WAPI. Annual Fee £250.

Fellow of the Association

Open to those who (a) have gained a higher level sector related or industry relevant officially recognised qualification or sector related professional degree, or (b) have at least ten years experience in professional practice, or (c) in the discretionary view of the Governing Council of WAPI have made an outstanding contribution to the profession and/or the Association. Annual Fee £125

Affiliate Membership

For those who work in a complementary profession such as law, research, forensic science, etc and take an active interest in investigation. Annual Fee £150.
