Did 'The Office' Blog Announce Pam Halpert's Baby's Arrival?

spacer (WARNING! This report contains potential spoilers for upcoming episodes of NBC's "The Office." While it doesn't necessarily spoil happening from this past week's Christmas-themed episode, it contains details from the show's official NBC website that hint at what's to come probably after Christmas. If you don't want to know, TURN BACK NOW.)

OK, so maybe Halpert Baby #2 didn't necessarily demand the drawn-out roll-out of Pam and Jim's first baby in the sixth season, complete with a lengthy stay and not-necessarily-interesting story arc about Pam's nursing.

Having Pam absent from the Dunder Mifflin Christmas party with no explanation, except apparently an in-character blog that many fans probably wouldn't have read announcing the arrival of the second Halpert spawn, might've been too far to the opposite extreme.

Yet, here we are. We've been given one more reason to wonder why this show didn't just end with Michael Scott's final muted "That's what she said" and a heartfelt hug with Pam at the airport. According to Entertainment Weekly, Pam's pregnancy - written into this season to cover Jenna Fischer's for-realsies expected arrival - has reached a successful conclusion. And to the show's credit, they're covering it well with something so authentically like a real Mommy-blog entry that it's on par with how the show itself has authentically captured the documentary-filmmaking (and watching) experience.

For that matter, it would be interesting to know if this is Fischer penning the entries the way other shows have had their players develop online extensions of their characters that stay true to their parts. If it's not Fischer, it's someone who really has "Pam" down to a T.

"He's Here!" the blog trumpets. “It’s official! I’ve said goodbye to my lovely lady bump, and hello to baby Philip Halpert!!!

“When we brought Philip home, Cece was overwhelmed with emotion," continues "Pam." "First she threw her Vtech at the wall and started crying, but then all she wanted to do was be near him. It was pretty adorable. Now I just need to get her to be able to say 'Philip' instead of 'Pull-Up' so I’m not instinctively rushing to her side with Huggies every time."
