About Us

spacer Nestled in the Texas Hill Country 20 miles west of downtown Austin, Cuvee Coffee Roasting Company has been providing independent coffee houses and coffee enthusiasts with sustainable artisan blends, single origin, and estate coffees since 1998. All coffee is directly sourced, roasted to order and delivered fresh to ensure the ultimate coffee experience.  Cuvee Coffee also provides professional barista training and sells only the highest quality espresso machines, grinders, brewing equipment and water filtration/conditioning.  Cuvee is a nationally recognized specialty coffee roaster with its roots firmly established in Texas.

From humble beginnings, Cuvee Coffee Roasting Company was formed by Mike McKim in 1998 as a side business. The company's philosophy was quite simple: buy the highest quality coffee, precision roast it to exacting standards, deliver it fresh and teach people how to brew it properly.

Since inception, the company has continued to grow, but still hold onto that simple philosophy. Cuvee is credited with pioneering the specialty coffee movement in Texas and has firmly established itself as one of the premier specialty coffee roasters in the country. Great coffee. Roasted perfectly. Delivered fresh. Cuvee Coffee's mission is to build a sustainable and profitable coffee roasting business through educating people about quality coffee. The company is focused on providing the ultimate coffee experience. Coffee is roasted to order and shipped daily, five days a week, to ensure that only the freshest coffee arrives to the customer. Cuvee primarily provides coffee to independent, specialty coffee shops and specialty grocery stores. Cuvee only works with suppliers and partners who are committed to realizing the best possible coffee. Narrow Focus: Cuvee Coffee only focuses on coffee roasting, selling high quality coffee equipment, and conducting professional barista trainings. Direct relationships / quality control: Cuvee Coffee's business model is based on improving quality of life and quality of coffee. The company's goal is to build strong, mutually beneficial, lifelong relationships with everyone in the supply chain. Every year the Cuvee team spends a considerable amount of time and money traveling to the countries and farms of origin to establish and build relationships with farmers who are genuinely interested in improving the quality of their coffee. "Fair trade" and "organic" are popular buzz words in the coffee industry today. Unfortunately, the reality is that lot of mediocre roasters have reduced these terms to meaningless cliches. They use fair trade and organic certifications to promote low quality coffee, and that certainly is not the intent of those programs. While several of Cuvee's coffees are fair trade and organic certified, the company is committed to a deeper sustainability model. The company actually pays substantially more than fair trade prices for all of its coffees and focuses on strong, direct relationships with farmers and suppliers who share its vision for the best possible coffee. Premium Tools: Cuvee's professional coffee roasters, cuppers and baristas constantly monitor every stage of production. The quality control program includes technology like the Agtron controllers and analyzers as well as daily cupping sessions. Cuvee only sells La Marzocco espresso machines, Fetco brewers, and Mazzer & Mahlkonig grinders – the best products and equipment available in the industry.
