Welcome to Howe Caverns...We are open every day from 9am to 6pm for our Traditional Tours. Gift shop, Homemade Fudge, Truffles, Gemstone Mining are available. Cafe open with limited menu. Stay overnight in our motel. Plan to visit - enjoy the fun and adventure both above and below ground.

FAQs

When is the last tour of the cave?

The last tour is at 6 p.m. from April 1 - Oct. 31. and at 5 p.m. from Nov. 1 - March 31.

How often do cave tours leave?

Every 20-30 minutes. 

Is the cave handicapped accessible?

Unfortunately, no. However, those guests with impaired mobility are welcome to ride the elevator to get a glimpse and to feel the cool cave air. There is a video in our waiting area which they may watch.

When are you open?

The cave is open daily, except Christmas and Thanksgiving. The zip line and ropes course are open May through October weather permitting. Please see "Hours" for more details. If there is a change in the schedule, check out the marquee on the website.

What do I need to know before the visit?

Dress appropriately. Bring a light jacket or sweater. The cave is a constant 52-degrees F./12-degrees C. with 70-75% humidity -- year round.

Are there restrictions for the Ropes Course and Zip Line?

Yes, though they are suitable for children and adults, the following rules apply: 

You must understand and demonstrate knowledge of all safety rules. You must be in good physical condition. Additionally for Sky Trail® Ropes Course: you must be 48" tall and fit the harness safely. And for the Zip Line: you must weigh at least 60 lbs. the maximum weight is 300 lbs. You must be able to fit and sit safely in the harness.

One last thing both Ropes Course and Zip Line are open seasonally and in season weather permitting.

For the safety of our guests and preservation of the caverns, large bags, backpacks, etc., are not permitted underground.

Wheeled devices and strollers are not permitted in the cave. Above-ground areas are accessible to mobility impaired visitors.
