Since 1979, our Agency has had federal and utility company funded programs that provide home energy saving services and products to low-income Butte County residents at no charge.Typically, installations include attic insulation, door and window repairs to reduce air loss, tune-ups or repairs or replacement of heating and cooling systems, replacing appliances to improve efficiency and safety, and replacing standard lighting with compact fluorescent bulbs.
Other services include weather stripping, low-flow showerheads, ceiling fans and many other energy saving measures. Our technicians complete energy audits to determine which energy measures are most appropriate and cost effective for each home. Weatherization reduces energy cost for low-income families by improving the efficiency of their homes.
To date, our Agency has provided these crucial services to more than 30,000 homes.
All Income Levels Division
For households that do not meet the low-income qualifications, we can now provide a home energy audit for a small fee of $195.00. Clients will receive the following services:
- Blower Door Test
- Duct Test
- Safety test for gas & propane appliances
- Check attic insulation
- Energy Conservation Education
Our technicians will write up a full report that includes everything you could possibly do to improve the energy efficency of your home, right down to how much it costs you to open your refridgerator door.
