Rotary Ride: Pedaling Against Polio 

Where:   Start & Finish @ Blue Springs Rotary Park (7 highway approx. 1/2 mile south of I-70, Blue Springs, MO)

When:    Sunday, April 22, 2012 – Rain or Shine! 

7:30 AM   Breakfast  (Bagels, coffee, juice)

8:30 AM   50 Mile Riders Depart

9:00 AM    30 Mile Riders Depart

9:15 AM   15 Mile Riders Depart

Noon         Lunch is served until 1:30 PM (Bar-B-Que)

 

This event will occur RAIN OR SHINE. Unfortunately, in case of day-of-ride cancellation, a no refund policy is in place.

Rotary Ride: Pedaling Against Polio is a joint project of the Blue Springs Rotary Club, the Raytown Rotary Club and the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit. Proceeds benefit Rotary International’s Polio Plus campaign and the non-profit foundations of all three Rotary clubs.

After 25 years of hard work, Rotary and its partners are on the brink of eradicating this tenacious disease, but a strong push is needed now to root it out once and for all. It is a window of opportunity of historic proportions.

Reaching the ultimate goal of a polio-free world presents ongoing challenges, not the least of which is a US$535 million funding gap through 2012. Of course, Rotary alone can’t fill this gap, but continued Rotarian advocacy for government support can help enormously.

As long as polio threatens even one child anywhere in the world, children everywhere remain at risk. The stakes are that high.

Register to Ride

Registration is $30 before April 2, 2012 and $35 after. Registration includes breakfast and lunch, SAG support, technical t-shirt, and goodie bag. Riders under 12 are free when riding with a parent or guardian over age 18.

Packet pick-up will occur on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the Bike Stop location Lee’s Summit (248 NW Oldham Pkwy | Lee’s Summit, MO | 64081 | 816.525.8686)
