The Venice International Photo Contest is an annual photo award competition open to photographers anywhere in the world and managed by the no-profit society called VIPC: a good chance to be published and to get international fame!

Dear Colleagues,

After prime two editions with more than 35 participating Countries, VIPC, the international photo competition of Venice, has been boosting its challenging and brave objectives for 2007 with 84 countries partecipating.

VIPC therefore, has got, during 2007, the official co-sporsorship of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe of the sub-category on Poverty and Health for the supply of images concerning the theme of the Technical consultation on Poverty and Health.

2007 edition started again from Buenos Aires last 24th of September with 'best of vipc 05/06' at FCBA to shore to the Palazzo Franchetti, Palazzo delle Prigioni and to the Pieta' Institute , in Venice, where the gala opening dinner was host on the 8th of December for the whole public.

2009 edition started with a special section called 'European Dialogue Contest' aimed at photographers from around the world but focused on Eastern Europe: the new Europe. A dedicated exhibition was host in the prestigious 'Biblioteca Statale Isontina' in Gorizia, to arrive later in Venice with the famous international contest and exhibition which is already a point of reference for Worldwide photographers. The primary objective of this initiative was to emphasize the new composition of Europe and further future enlargement to the east by extending the invitation to aspiring countries and observers and then giving them the opportunity to express through their works the new reality. 2009 is 'The Year of Intercultural Dialogue' which is celebrated throughout Europe with events that promote and, as the presidency of France said, it should be remembered as the year of a new impetus, new energy and synergy - synergy for Europe!

Organizers wish to carry out the International Photographic Conference in the City of Venice, as a matter of fact it could be the place where different photographic Societes, producers and professional photographers get in touch with each other.

Once the exhibition will come to the end, VIPC will launch the Vipc World Tour (VWT) which landed, in prime editions, to the USA and Egypt.

2009 ended with 3 international events in Venice: the BBCC expo, the award ceremony at the Casino' Palace and the 2009 exhibition at the Istituto Santa Maria della Piet where they were presented by the commision, together with the 20 finalists of the contest LIFE ans STILL LIFE, the 4 authors choosed to open the festival in the future.

VIPC will produce the Venice Photo Festival, a celebration of the photography in Venice.

'Our vision for Venice Photo Festival is a gateway to photography from distant cultures, just as Venice was a gateway for great cultural influences during the time of the Old Silk Road...'
