On Wednesday, February 15, 2012, Governor Dannel P. Malloy along with Lieutenant Governor Nancy Wyman and Commissioner of Education Stefan Pryor visited Windham Technical High School in Willimantic, Connecticut. The governor was welcomed by Patricia Ciccone, Superintendent of the Connecticut Technical High School System (CTHSS), Assistant Superintendent Nivea Torres and Windham Tech Principal Kirk Murad.

The governor and the other guests were taken on a tour of the school by Class of 2012 students Precious Baker and Luis Ortiz. They were able to visit many of the technical programs at the school including the Manufacturing Technology, Electrical, Automotive Technology, Carpentry and Architectural Technologies shops. The governor even got the chance to sample one of the delicious desserts created by students in the Culinary Arts program.

After the tour, the governor held a brief press conference in which he stated the importance of the Connecticut Technical High School System in training the future workforce of the state. He also stressed the importance of the partnership of Connecticut's businesses and CTHSS in providing the best training possible for Connecticut's technical high school students.
